Skin Cancer
About Skin Cancer?
Chronic or growing lesions of the skin may harbor cancer. Biopsy is often needed to determine the cause of a skin lesion. Dr. Slenkovich performs biopsies and excisions of skin cancers, as well skin cancer reconstruction. Skin cancer treatment can often leave less-than-pleasing cosmetic results. Reconstructive surgery after skin cancer can help repair unsightly scars and changes in facial structure.
Are You a Candidate?
If you need a skin lesion evaluated or you've been treated for skin cancer and are now unhappy with how your face looks, you may be a candidate.
How Is the Procedure Performed?
Biopsies and small excisions are performed as outpatient or office procedures. Anatomically sensitive sites, such as those on or near the eyelids or brows, nose, ears or lips require special planning for treatment and reconstruction. Reconstructive techniques are not routinely needed, but range from local skin flaps, scar revision and tissue rearrangement to more complex tissue transfer and graft reconstructions.
Insurance?
Insurance typically covers evaluation and treatment of suspicious skin lesions, cancers and reconstructive surgery.
