How Is the Breast Enlargement Procedure Performed?
Breast enlargement, termed "breast augmentation" by doctors, is done in Denver at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center on an outpatient basis under sedation or general anesthesia. A small incision is made and a saline implant is inserted either under the breast tissue or under the breast tissue and the underlying muscle.
What About Pain? Dr. Slenkovich uses a pain minimizer anesthetic technique that is so successful patients have virtually no pain, and usually "come out of the recovery room literally smiling."
How Close Are We to a Hospital?
While breast enlargement surgery is done in our Colorado Plastic Surgery Center, the Center itself is physically connected by a walkway to Swedish Hospital, so if you choose to stay overnight, that option is always available.
What Is Recovery Like?
Initial discomfort after breast implants is controlled with oral medication. Light activities can be resumed as tolerated in a graduated fashion. Aerobic activities can be started in about three weeks after breast implants.
