What Does It Do?
Reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck can help restore function and recreate a more normal appearance following an inherited defect or a disfiguring injury, burn or treatment for cancer.
How are the Procedures Performed?
Reconstructive techniques - from simple scar revision to a complex transfer of tissue flaps - aim to repair damaged tissue, rebuild body parts, and restore patients to a more normal appearance and function.

Nasal Obstruction/Broken Nose Surgery
What Does It Do?
Repair of a deviated nasal septum or blocked nasal passages, known as septoplasty or septorhinoplasty, is highly successful at relieving nasal obstruction. It is used to correct problems with the nose, such as breathing difficulties or damage incurred through injury. Nasal airway surgery is closely related to nasal reshaping surgery and often techniques are combined in a given case.
Are You a Candidate?
If you have blockage of one or both of your nasal passages, you may be a candidate for septoplasty or septorhinoplasty.
How Is the Procedure Performed?
Septoplasty and septorhinoplasty are performed on an outpatient basis under sedation with local or general anesthesia.
What Is Recovery Like?
Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Splints are commonly used inside the nose that are removed within the first week. Commonly breathing is better immediately after removing the internal splints. If rhinoplasty is combined with septoplasty, a splint is placed on the outside of the nose to protect if for up to a week.
Insurance?
Septoplasty and nasal obstruction surgery is commonly covered by insurance companies. We are happy to help you obtain insurance pre-authorization.

Skin Cancer
Skin Cancer
About Skin Cancer?
Chronic or growing lesions of the skin may harbor cancer. Biopsy is often needed to determine the cause of a skin lesion. Dr. Slenkovich performs biopsies and excisions of skin cancers, as well skin cancer reconstruction. Skin cancer treatment can often leave less-than-pleasing cosmetic results. Reconstructive surgery after skin cancer can help repair unsightly scars and changes in facial structure.
Are You a Candidate?
If you need a skin lesion evaluated or you've been treated for skin cancer and are now unhappy with how your face looks, you may be a candidate.
How Is the Procedure Performed?
Biopsies and small excisions are performed as outpatient or office procedures. Anatomically sensitive sites, such as those on or near the eyelids or brows, nose, ears or lips require special planning for treatment and reconstruction. Reconstructive techniques are not routinely needed, but range from local skin flaps, scar revision and tissue rearrangement to more complex tissue transfer and graft reconstructions.
Insurance?
Insurance typically covers evaluation and treatment of suspicious skin lesions, cancers and reconstructive surgery.
