Laser Resurfacing
What Does it Do?
A laser peel is designed to give you a smoother, more youthful-appearing skin of more uniform color.
Are you a Candidate?
If you have fine or course wrinkles in your skin, an uneven skin surface as a result of scarring acne or small skin growths, or age spots, you may be a candidate for laser resurfacing.
How is the Procedure Performed?
The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis under local sedation or general anesthesia. The superficial layers of the skin are removed by the pulsed laser. The laser treatment also tightens the skin. Depending on location, the treated areas are usually covered with ointment.
What is Recovery Like?
Healing will be complete within 7 to 14 days. Redness or pinkness of the skin will usually last from one to six months. Makeup can be worn once healing is complete.
