Denver Forehead Lift and Eyelid Surgery Specialist
Dr. Nick Slenkovich
An eyelid lift procedure, or blepharoplasty, is intended to produce a more youthful and rested appearance around the eyes. It may also widen visual fields if excessive upper lid skin has partially blocked vision.
If you have excessive, sagging, or wrinkled upper or lower eyelid skin, you may be a candidate for an eyelid surgery in Denver. An eyelid surgery can also be helpful if you have excess upper eyelid skin that interferes with vision, if you have lost your natural upper eyelid crease, or if you have puffy pouches of fat in your upper or lower lids that cause you to look tired or aged.
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis at our Colorado Plastic Surgery Center while under sedation with local or general anesthesia.
What Is Recovery From Eyelid Surgery Like?
Initial mild discomfort is controlled with oral medication. Bruising and sensitivity to light can last up to two weeks after eyelid surgery. Most Denver eyelid surgery patients can return to non-strenuous work in 7-10 days. Swelling disappears within two weeks. Eye makeup can be used after sutures are removed.
Insurance and Financing
If eyelid lift surgery is being done to improve your field of vision, the procedure may be covered by insurance. Otherwise, the surgery is considered cosmetic, and insurance normally will not pay for eyelid surgery. We will be pleased to help you obtain financing for this procedure if it is not covered by insurance. We are affiliated with companies that offer financing for cosmetic surgery.

Brow Lift / Forehead Lift
An eyelid lift is sometimes performed in conjunction with a brow lift / forehead lift. A forehead lift or brow lift is intended to give a more youthful and rested appearance to the forehead and upper eyelids.
You may be a candidate for a forehead lift in Denver if you have a sagging forehead or brows that hang too low and too close to your eyes, or if you have deep vertical furrows (frown lines) between your eyebrows.
The brow lift is done on an outpatient basis in our Colorado Plastic Surgery Center under general anesthesia or monitored sedation. Depending on your anatomy, this procedure can often be performed using small incisions that are well hidden within the hairline.
Recovery from brow lift surgery is easily controlled with oral medication. Most swelling and bruising is gone in 7-14 days, and Denver brow lift patients can usually resume light duty work within this timeframe.
Dr. Slenkovich has written or edited a number of medical articles on Forehead Lifts including: “Brow Lift, Coronoplasty”, “Brow Lift, Direct Brow Lift”, “Brow Lift, Endoscopic”, "Brow Lift, Mid Forehead”, “Brow Lift, Periorbital Rejuvenation”, and “Browlift, Pretrichial Lift”.
