What Is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
During a laser peel, the superficial layers of the skin are removed by a pulsed laser. The laser treatment also tightens the skin. The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis under local sedation or general anesthesia. Depending on location, the treated areas are usually covered with ointment.
What is Recovery Like?
Healing from laser skin resurfacing will be complete within 7 to 14 days. Redness or pinkness of the skin will usually last from one to six months. Makeup can be worn once healing is complete.
