Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) uses your body’s own healing factors to rejuvenate skin, restore hair, and enhance results naturally—without additives or synthetic ingredients.
PRF FAQs
When will I start seeing improvement?
Initial changes, such as improved skin tone, may be noticeable within a few weeks. However, more significant improvements typically develop over 2 to 3 months as collagen remodeling continues. Treatments focused on hair often require multiple sessions before any visible thickening is observed, as with our skin treatments, which also generally require several sessions for optimal results.
How long do results last?
Results vary based on age, biology, and lifestyle factors. Many patients enjoy improvement for 6–12 months or longer. Because PRF supports tissue health rather than creating artificial volume, ongoing maintenance may help sustain results.
Is PRF painful?
Most patients tolerate PRF very well. A topical anesthetic may be used for comfort, and injections are performed with precision and care. You may feel brief pressure or mild discomfort, but the procedure is generally well-tolerated.
Are there risks or side effects?
Because PRF is derived from your own blood, allergic reactions are infrequent. However, as with any injection-based treatment, temporary side effects may include swelling, bruising, tenderness, or mild redness. Less common risks can include infection, prolonged swelling, or uneven healing, but these are minimized when the procedure is performed in a medically supervised, sterile environment by experienced providers.
Who should avoid PRF treatment?
Individuals with active infections, certain blood disorders, uncontrolled systemic illnesses, or platelet dysfunction may not be appropriate candidates. Patients undergoing chemotherapy or with significant immune compromise should be medically evaluated before considering treatment.
Will PRF replace dermal fillers?
Not necessarily. PRF improves tissue quality and supports regeneration, while fillers provide structural volume. In some cases, PRF may reduce the need for filler; in others, the two may complement each other as part of a balanced plan.
Does lifestyle affect my results?
Yes. Smoking, poor nutrition, high stress levels, and inadequate sleep can all impact healing and collagen production. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle supports optimal regenerative response and longer-lasting results.
Is PRF FDA-approved?
PRF itself is considered a minimally manipulated autologous blood product prepared at the point of care. While specific preparation systems may be FDA-cleared, platelet concentrates are generally used at the physician's discretion as part of medical practice. During your consultation, we will review all safety considerations and answer any regulatory questions you may have.
