What is Renuvion?
As a skin tightening treatment, Renuvion directly treats the connective tissues that hold your skin to the underlying muscles. The small tube at the head of the device is inserted below the skin to allow greater access to the connective tissues. The treatment device emits a controlled heat through helium gas and radiofrequency energy that combine to form a stream of energy, or plasma, that causes the connective tissues to contract. The excess helium gas helps to keep the surrounding area cool so that your skin is protected from any damage. As the connective tissues tighten, your skin is pulled in closer to the underlying muscles for a dramatically more youthful look.

What should I expect during the treatment?
At the beginning of the treatment, you will be under twilight sedation for your comfort. During the procedure, small incisions will be made in the treatment areas so the slim device can be inserted below the skin. The connective tissues will be heated, and they will quickly contract. The procedure usually takes less than an hour, depending on the areas to be tightened and smoothed. You will need another person to drive you home after the procedure. Pain relief medication will also be prescribed if necessary, although over-the-counter painkillers are usually all that you will need to stay comfortable.
What should I expect during the recovery period?
The recovery period is typically two to three weeks, with most of the recovery occurring in the first week. Swelling, bruising, and redness may still be apparent in the early stages of healing. You can expect to be back to work and enjoying your routine within just a day or two after the treatment with Renuvion. You should expect some follow-up appointments following your procedure so we can assess the results.
