A Modern Approach to Breast Augmentation at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center

If you’ve been considering a breast augmentation, you know it’s about more than just volume! Often patients want results that look natural, feel comfortable, and age well over time. At Colorado Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Nick Slenkovich and Dr. Laura Roider combine advanced surgical planning with next-generation implant technology to deliver balanced, beautiful results.

One of the most exciting advances in modern breast surgery is the introduction of Motiva® breast implants which we are proud to offer at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center.

What Are Motiva® Breast Implants?

Motiva is a premium 6th generation silicone breast implant that has been used internationally for over a decade and is now FDA-approved in the United States!

SO, what sets Motiva apart?

At first glance it looks like any other modern cohesive silicone implant. The difference is in how it was designed; with the female body in mind while focusing on reducing inflammation and mimicking natural breast tissue.

Motiva implants feature:

  • A SmoothSilk™ nanosurface
  • 6th generation ProgressiveGel™ fill

Together, these elements are designed to reduce inflammation, improve long-term results, and create a more natural look and feel.

Why does Inflammation and the Peri-implant Capsule Matter?

Any time an implant is placed in the body, a thin layer of scar tissue—called a capsule—forms around it. This is normal. Problems occur when that capsule around a breast implant becomes thick, tight, and firm, a condition known as capsular contracture.

One of the main reasons Motiva implants have gained attention among plastic surgeons is their focus on reducing inflammation, because traditionally inflammation has been linked to capsular contracture. The SmoothSilk™ shell surface on Motiva implants is made inside a mold with a microscopic surface pattern that is transferred to implant shell.

Through research in both lab studies and real-world patients, Motiva’s SmoothSilk surface has been associated with:

  • Fewer inflammatory cells in the capsule
  • Lower levels of inflammatory signaling molecules

And, most importantly studies demonstrate, a lower rate of capsular contracture (2%) compared to other modern smooth implants.

Round vs Ergonomix™ Motiva Implants

Motiva offers two main gel behaviors, to help ensure each patient is achieving their goal:

  • Round – Implants are filled 100% with ProgressiveGel® PLUS® for increased upper pole fullness and softness. This results in a more augmented appearance.
  • Ergonomix™ – Implants are filled 100% with ProgressiveGel® ULTIMA® designed to mimic the look, feel, and movement of a natural breast. When laying down it has the traditional round shape, when standing the special gel composition allows the implant to have a more natural teardrop shape, creating a more natural upper pole slope.

Both are beautiful options!

Are Motiva Implants Right for You?

Motiva implants are ideal for those seeking realistic results, minimal scarring, and a smooth recovery. During your consultation, Dr. Slenkovich or Dr. Roider will discuss your goals, assess your anatomy, and determine the most appropriate approach for your procedure, including implant selection.

While Motiva implants are an excellent option for many patients, they are not the right choice for everyone; if another implant better matches your anatomy, chest width, or size goals, particularly in very large sizes, we will always prioritize the option that helps achieve the best result. Our collaborative process ensures every decision aligns with your comfort and desired results.

As part of this process, we use Vectra 3D imaging technology to help you visualize your results and actively participate in choosing your implant size and style. This interactive simulation ensures we share the same vision for your outcome, making your journey even more personalized and empowering.
